What exactly is happening on December 31, 2026?

After extensive evaluation, Apryse has made the decision to retire Docubee effective December 31, 2026. The Docubee application and website will be permanently shut down. Access to all data, signed documents, APIs, and workflows will NO LONGER be possible after that date.

Are the documents I signed in Docubee still legally binding?
-
Yes! Your signed documents remain legally valid even if the e-signature provider closes. U.S. law (ESIGN Act and UETA) gives electronic signatures the same legal weight as handwritten ones. We strongly recommend that you download and securely store these documents and audit trails for future reference.

What if I’m an API customer and have remaining transactions?

You will need to use all remaining transactions by the expiration date of your Docubee subscription. Please plan accordingly to ensure the full benefit of your transactions.

Who will be my point of contact during the transition?

Docubee customers can reach out to the Docubee Support team for any questions or concerns during the transition.

Can I still access my signed documents or other data after December 31, 2026?

No. The Docubee platform will be shutdown at midnight on December 31, 2026. There will be no way to retrieve any data, documents, audit trails, or API’s after that time.

No. Xodo Sign does not have contract lifecycle management, document repository, workflow solutions, or workflow APIs. Xodo Sign can provide a full-featured eSignature platform that supports legally binding eSignatures accompanied by e-sign APIs that can be embedded into applications. How do I get my data and signed documents out of Docubee?

You may request an export of your data from now until June 30, 2026 by contacting Docubee Support and submitting a ticket. We will begin fulfilling requests at the end of Q1 2026.

What if I don’t know when I am leaving but know it will be after June 30th?

As long as you request the data export before June 30th, the Docubee team will make every effort to fulfill your request when you are ready.

What is the cost of the data export?

The data export is being provided to aid your transition and is at no cost to you.

My renewal date is approaching. How is this handled?

You have two options to consider:

Migrate to Xodo Sign
Move to our partner product, Xodo Sign which offers comparable e-signature functionality. With this option, you will retain access to Docubee data and functionality, at no additional cost, ensuring a smooth migration. Continued use is subject to the Docubee Terms of Use. -
Cancel Upon Subscription Expiration
Your Docubee account will be closed out on the final day of your contract term, and you will lose access to all data and Docubee features.

With a past due account, you have the following options:

Migrate to Xodo Sign before January 31, 2026
Switch to our partner product, Xodo Sign, which offers comparable e-signature functionality. This option will provide free access to Docubee until June 30, 2026 to aid you in a smooth transition to Xodo Sign. Any continued use of the software for this interim period would remain subject to the Docubee terms of use. -
Cancel your subscription at the end of January 2026
Your Docubee account will be closed out on January 31, 2026 and you will lose access to all data and Docubee features.

I use Docubee through one of your partners. What do I need to know?

The Docubee platform is shutting down on December 31, 2026. We have been in contact with all our partners to notify them of the shutdown. They will be planning their transition and most likely be in touch with you soon. If you have concerns, reach out to them directly for further information.

Does Xodo Sign have all the same features I used in Docubee?

Does Xodo Sign meet the same compliance standards (HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR, etc.) as Docubee?

Xodo Sign is currently compliant with SOC 2 Type 1, EU eIDAS, US ESIGN, and GDPR standards. In Q1 2026, Xodo will complete SOC 2 Type 2 and add HIPAA and CPAS certifications, bringing Xodo Sign to full parity with Docubee.

Are login security features the same between Docubee and Xodo Sign?

I have an account from AppSumo will my account be migrated to Xodo Sign?

No. On December 31, 2026, the Docubee accounts through AppSumo will be shutdown with no further access. AppSumo users will need to find another solution for their particular use case.
Docubee Data Export FAQ

What are the options for accessing my Docubee data after Dec. 31, 2026?
-
On December 31, 2026, the Docubee system will be shutdown preventing any access to functionality or data. If you wish to have historical access to your data after that date, you will need to request a data export by June 30, 2026. The Docubee team will provide a secure, encrypted data export for you to retrieve and store appropriately.

Are there any requirements or costs for a data export?

Yes, you need to make the request to get the data export by June 30, 2026 by submitting a Docubee Support ticket. The Docubee Team will begin providing the exports after Q1 2026.
There is no cost for the export. -
Can I request my data export for a specific date?

No. Beginning after Q1 2026, the Docubee Team will begin working through the data export requests and provide your file as quickly as possible.

If I go to Xodo Sign, will my Docubee data be migrated for me?
-
No. There will be no migration of Docubee data to Xodo Sign. You may request an export of your data for historical reference, but it will not be migrated into Xodo Sign.

Organizational & Workspace Data:- Clear folder structure for easy navigation
- Include JSON file explaining export structure
Library Content:- All documents stored in Library
- Inclusive of templates
- Document metadata
- Latest version will be included
- Previous versions will not be included
Quick Sign Documents:- All Quick Sign documents with completion status
- Associated signature logs and audit trails
- Signer information and signature timestamps
Contracts (CLM):- All contracts, regardless of status
- Contract metadata (parties, terms, dates)
Workflow Data:- Instance Metadata:
- Instance ID
- Instance Title
- Start Date
- End Date
- Status (completed, in-progress, abandoned)
- Workflow template name/ID
- Documents (tied to Instance ID):

What type of security and compliance standards will there be on the export?

A secure, time-limited (14-day expiration) download link will be provided. The export will be stored in a secure S3 bucket with encryption and password protection.
There will be no PII in export filenames or S3 paths.
There will be an audit trail of all export activities. -
How will I be notified the export is available?
-
When the export is ready for you to download, an email will be sent to the requester which will contain download instructions and necessary passwords.
